Congratulations on deciding to start a private practice! This is a huge step toward a balanced and financially fulfilling career. I am passionate about helping other mental health professionals get started and here are some topics we would cover in our one-on-one consultation session:

  • Getting started: forms, software, legal/ethical practices, etc.
  • Having the right support staff: CPA, bookkeeper, brand developer, etc.
  • How to network successfully for the right referrals for your practice
  • Ways to connect with your mental health professional community to promote your practice
  • Hiring and supervising associates as your practice grows
  • Strategic methods to help avoid burnout

Coaching can be provided on a one time basis or recurring meeting, depending on your needs.

Sliding Scale Available

We believe that finances shouldn’t get in the way of high quality therapy and are happy to offer sliding scale rates and student discounts on an as-needed basis. Please email us directly for more information.

Insurance

We do not accept insurance - however, there are some options available to you. If you have a PPO plan, our therapists can provide you with a “superbill” (aka invoice) to submit to your insurance company for partial reimbursement. Here are some questions to ask your PPO insurance provider to determine your eligibility and reimbursement:

What is my out-of-network deductible for outpatient mental health? How much of my deductible has been met this year?

What is my out-of-network deductible for outpatient mental health? (Outpatient means treatment outside a hospital.)

Are these CPT codes covered? 90834 (for Individual Therapy), 90847 (for Couples Therapy).

Is there a limit to how many mental health visits I may receive per calendar year?

How do I submit claim forms for reimbursement?

Accepted Forms of Payment

Credit Card, PayPal, Venmo, and IVY Pay

Why We Don't Accept Insurance

Privacy

Therapy is a private and personal endeavor and we believe that your information should be protected at all times. Seeking out therapy through your insurance by contracting through a third party compromises your confidentiality.

Quality of Care

Therapists contracted through insurance companies often have a long waiting list and are only approved for a limited amount of sessions based on your diagnosis. With our team of therapists, you will get a call back within 24 hours, we do not depend on a diagnosis to determine length of treatment, and you will receive high-quality and individualized interventions based on your goals.

Diagnosis

Insurance companies must give the client a diagnosis in order to pay for services. Our clientele tends to be individuals who are healthy, insightful, and seek out therapy as a way to further explore their individual goals. Therefore, a diagnosis is not always necessary and our clients do not always meet the criteria for mental health disorders covered by insurance companies.

Long-term Implications

Some implications include the “label” of a diagnosis and the limited amount of sessions available within one calendar year. With an insurance company, your diagnosis remains on your medical health record and could impact your cost of medical insurance rates over time, long-term care, and disability insurance.
